In her new book, Dehumanizing Christians: Cultural Competition in a Multicultural World, Dr. Erica Chenoweth explores the ways in which Christians are being dehumanized in today's society. Chenoweth argues that this dehumanization is a result of the cultural competition that is taking place in a multicultural world. As different cultures come into contact with each other, they compete for resources and status. This competition can lead to the dehumanization of those who are perceived to be different.
Chenoweth provides several examples of how Christians are being dehumanized in today's society. She cites the example of a Christian baker who was sued for refusing to bake a cake for a same-sex wedding. She also cites the example of a Christian student who was expelled from school for wearing a T-shirt with a Bible verse on it. These are just two examples of the many ways in which Christians are being marginalized and excluded from society.
Chenoweth argues that the dehumanization of Christians is a serious problem that needs to be addressed. She believes that this dehumanization is leading to violence and discrimination against Christians. Chenoweth calls on Christians to resist the temptation to dehumanize others and to instead work towards building a more inclusive and just society.
Dehumanizing Christians: Cultural Competition in a Multicultural World is a timely and important book that sheds light on a serious problem that is facing Christians today. Chenoweth's book is a must-read for anyone who is concerned about the future of religious freedom in our country.
