Steve Jobs was an American entrepreneur and business magnate who co-founded Apple Computer, Inc. (now known as Apple Inc.) with Steve Wozniak. The company's first product was the Apple I computer, which was followed by the Apple II in 1977. The Apple II was a huge success, and it helped to make Apple one of the most successful companies in the world.
In 1984, Jobs introduced the Macintosh, the first personal computer to feature a graphical user interface (GUI). The Macintosh was not initially a commercial success, but it eventually became one of Apple's most popular products. In 1985, Jobs was forced out of Apple by the company's board of directors. He then founded NeXT, a computer company that developed the NeXTSTEP operating system. In 1997, Apple acquired NeXT, and Jobs returned to the company as its CEO.
Under Jobs's leadership, Apple went on to develop a number of successful products, including the iMac, the iPod, the iPhone, and the iPad. Jobs also played a key role in the development of the iTunes Store and the App Store. In 2011, Jobs resigned as CEO of Apple due to health problems. He died of pancreatic cancer on October 5, 2011.
